SK: Hi Marie, how are you doing today?

ML: I’m actually doing really well today. I have nothing to complain about.

SK: You received a large amount of 2009 AVN award nominations. How was your experience at the AVNs this year? Do you like Las Vegas?

ML: This year was a good show for me. I love going to Vegas to meet my fans. I didn’t expect to win any awards but it was nice to be nominated. Especially female performer of the year. There are hundreds of girls in this business that want to see their name in that category & to be the only black actress this year, that was enough for me. I also liked that one of my girl/girl scenes got nominated because I just started performing with ladies last year. So that nomination makes me feel like it will help me get more girl/girl scenes because they see that there just as good as my boy/girl ones. The same amount of passion.

SK: Your first exposure to media was through mainstream modeling. You’ve said that your ‘crossover’ occurred when you were approached by Hustler. Can you tell us how that developed?

ML: Actually I was ‘dating’ Jake Steed and he actually took me down to Hustler. Well not him his brother. I always admired Larry Flynt after I saw the movie about his life & actually wanted to be in the magazine. I still need to try to get on the cover. Been in several pictorial spreads but never the cover.
